Oligodendroglia

Glial coiled body

Gallyas stain

  • What is indicated by an arrow is the accumulation of phosphorylated tau in the cell body of oligodendroglia, which is called a glial coil body. Strictly, it is necessary to confirm by immunostaining because it is similar to the inclusion body in glial cytoplasm of multiple system atrophy. They appear non-specifically in so-called tauopathy.
