今日で脱水は6日目で100%エタノール４槽です。今日の午後に中間剤のクロロホルム1槽に移します。クロロホルムに組織を一週間程度入れておいても組織は固くならないので、週末に脳をクロロホルムに入れるようにスケジュールを調整しています。また、パラフィン包埋を来週の金曜日までに済ますために、火曜日の夕方にクロロホルム４槽に、水曜日の朝にパラフィン１槽に入れる予定です。
It is the sixth day of dehydration and the tissues are immersed in 100% ethanol(4). The tissues will be transferred to a clearing agent, chloroform (1). Since chloroform has little effect to harden tissues, it is OK to leave tissues in chloroform for a week. Therefore, we schedule the clearing process on weekends. I will transfer the tissues to chloroform (4) on Tuesday afternoon and to paraffin (1) on Wednesday morning to embed the tissues in paraffin wax on Friday.
