脳梗塞症例のヘマトキシリン・エオジン標本を眺めていると、梗塞巣の中の色調は全体的にピンクっぽく見えます。これがeosinophilicかー、と感心します。梗塞巣の中のニューロンは赤いと言いますが、このピンクや赤のニューロンがそれなのですね。形はニューロンの形をしていますが、ニッスル小体は見えないし、核は暗い色しているし、核小体は見えないし、細胞質も言われてみれば赤い気がします。

When I look at the hematoxylin and eosin specimens of cerebral infarction cases, the lesion looks pinkish overall. It is convincing that this is eosinophilic. Under conditions of ischemia, the color of neurons within the infarct lesion gets red. The shape of red neurons is usual, but the nucleolus is invisible, the nucleus is dark in color, and the cytoplasm is reddish.
